Baseball Recap: Cedar Ridge Drops Season-High Score on Morton Ranch

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Cedar Ridge). They blew past the Morton Ranch Mavericks 9-1 on Thursday. The Raiders not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since April 5, 2024.

Cedar Ridge got a great performance from Jaedyn Lambert as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out ten over six innings pitched. The dominant performance gave Lambert a new career-high in strikeouts.

At the plate, Jake Shoemaker was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run and one stolen base. That home run marked the first that he launched this season. Another player making a difference was Luke Irwin, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-2.

Cedar Ridge hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most five strikeouts in six consecutive matches.

Cedar Ridge now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Morton Ranch, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-7.

Cedar Ridge didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 17-4 win against Magnolia West on the 6th. As for Morton Ranch, they will take on Katy Taylor at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
