Football Recap: Pinon Takes a Loss

Pinon extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 3-3. They took a blow against the Holbrook Roadrunners, falling 60-6. The Eagles lost against the Roadrunners in their previous head to head back in October of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 26-24 score last time.

As for Holbrook, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season. The matchup marked their most dominant win of the season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Holbrook to victory, but perhaps none more so than Darren Justman, who threw for 269 yards and three touchdowns on only 17 passes. That's the most passing yards Justman has posted since back in October of 2024. Simeon Shaw was another key pass catcher, gaining 192 total yards and a touchdown.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pinon will host Red Mesa at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Holbrook, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Camp Verde at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 909 yards in their previous games.
