Scarborough is a perfect 10-0 against Westbrook since May of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Red Storm will host the Blue Blazes at 3:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Scarborough fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Marshwood on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 10-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hawks. The Red Storm have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Asa Howe spent all ten innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and five unearned) runs on 13 hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Scarborough saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emma Rice, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and one RBI. Those stolen bases marked the first that Rice has snagged this season.

Meanwhile, Westbrook came up short against Thornton Academy on Monday and fell 15-10. The Blue Blazes haven't had much luck with the Trojans recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

Josie Christensen made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Hannah Christensen was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

Scarborough's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Westbrook, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3.

Scarborough took their victory against Westbrook when the teams last played back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 12-5 score. Do the Red Storm have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Blue Blazes turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
