Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Shelton). They really took it to the Santee Warriors for the full four quarters, racking up a 63-26 victory at home. With the Bulldogs ahead 42-7 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

Shelton's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ben Myers led the charge by rushing for 115 yards and three touchdowns on only five carries. Myers also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making six total tackles and defending a pass in addition to snagging an interception. Shelton also got a significant boost from Reilly Jensen, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 93 yards.

He was just one part of a punishing run game: Shelton was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 273 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 220 rushing yards in four consecutive games.

Shelton didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Owen Johnson and Myers. Myers' rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 115 rushing yards dating back to last season.

Shelton's record is now 2-4. As for Santee, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 0-6.

Shelton will venture away from home to challenge Stuart at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Santee, they will host Heartland Lutheran on Friday.
