Basketball Recap: Villa Madonna Starts Season with Loss on the Road

Villa Madonna kicked off their season on the road on Wednesday and hit a couple of potholes. They were outmatched by the Bishop Brossart Mustangs and fell 75-40. The Vikings were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-18.

Villa Madonna's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Michael J Popham, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jay Meyers, who posted four points and four blocks.

Villa Madonna has already played their next game, a 50-31 victory against Williamstown on the 4th. As for Bishop Brossart, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 66-59 defeat against Sayre on the 5th.
