Soccer Game Preview: Mortimer Jordan vs. St. Clair County

The Mortimer Jordan Blue Devils will square off against the St. Clair County Fighting Saints at 1:00 p.m. on Monday. Mortimer Jordan will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more goals each match than the last.

On Thursday, Mortimer Jordan got the win against Hueytown by a conclusive 5-1. Considering Mortimer Jordan have won six games by more than three goals this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, after soaring to six goals the game before, St. Clair County was a bit more limited in their contest on Thursday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Hokes Bluff. The match was a 0-0 toss-up at halftime, but St. Clair County couldn't quite close it out.

Mortimer Jordan's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-6-1. As for St. Clair County, their loss dropped their record down to 8-6-2.

Mortimer Jordan came out on top in a nail-biter against St. Clair County in their previous matchup back in February of 2020, sneaking past 2-1. Will the Blue Devils repeat their success, or do the Fighting Saints have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
