Baseball Preview: Trinity Wolves vs. Mt. Shasta Bears
Trinity hasn't had much luck against Mt. Shasta recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Wolves will take on the Bears at 11:45 a.m.
Trinity can't be too happy about their upcoming road contest considering what happened when they opened their season away from home on Thursday. They came up short against Weed, falling 25-0.
Meanwhile, Mt. Shasta never let their opponents score on Thursday. Everything went their way against Anderson as they made off with a 12-0 win. That looming 12-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Bears yet this season.
Hank Johnson was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Johnson was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with two runs.
In other batting news, Nick Mangrum was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was JAXSON HEDLUND, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.
Mt. Shasta was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Anderson only posted a batting average of .267.
