Softball Recap: Tiverton Finds Home Field Redemption Against Cranston East

There's no place like home for Tiverton, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They skirted past the Cranston East Thunderbolts 4-3. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 6-5 back in April.

Lia Doster spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on seven hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 11 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Carlie Martin, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run. Another player making a difference was Jersey-Ann Hastie, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Tiverton's victory bumped their record up to 16-2. As for Cranston East, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-4.

Coincidentally, Tiverton and Cranston East will both be playing Barrington the next time they take the field. The Tigers will host the Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Thunderbolts will host them at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
