Football Game Preview: Chisholm Longhorns vs. Jones Longhorns

Chisholm hasn't had much luck against Jones recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. Chisholm will take on Jones at 7:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Chisholm is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Blackwell: they outscored them in every quarter. The Longhorns' defense stepped up to hand the Maroons a 72-0 shutout on Friday. Given the Longhorns' advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma football rankings (they are ranked 106th, while the Maroons are ranked 251st) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, you're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter and that's exactly how it played out for Jones on Thursday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that they blew Crooked Oak out of the water with a 42-0 final score. The Longhorns' win was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.

Jones' win came from a few key players Chisholm will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Acyn Hansen, who threw for 145 yards and two touchdowns on only nine passes. Eli Debusk got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Jones' victory bumped their record up to 6-0. As for Chisholm, the win got them back to even at 3-3.

Chisholm was dealt a bruising 47-20 defeat at the hands of Jones in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Can Chisholm avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
