Football Recap: South Rowan Comes Up Short

South Rowan and Bandys squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but South Rowan had to settle for second. They were outmatched by the Trojans and fell 71-14. The Raiders were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 56-14.

Although South Rowan took the loss, they still got scores from Trystin Chadwick and Dacorian Pharr.

Most of the squad's points came courtesy of special teams, who contributed eight in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Pharr, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

Bandys had a senior duo take command as Tanner Stewart rushed for 122 yards and four TDs on only 15 carries and Brady Swett threw for 237 yards and four touchdowns while completing 81.8% of his passes. Stewart has become a key player for the Trojans: the team is undefeated when he posts at least 100 rushing yards, but 3-5 otherwise.

South Rowan's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Bandys, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

South Rowan does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Bandys, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 60-49 loss against Stuart W. Cramer on the 14th.
