Basketball Recap: Make It Nine in a Row for Appling County

Appling County entered their tilt with Crisp County on Friday with eight consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with nine. They claimed a resounding 60-24 win over the Crisp County Cougars. With the Pirates ahead 38-10 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Leading Appling County to victory were Keniyah White and Perri Mitchell. White posted 21 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals, while Mitchell put up six points along with 12 boards and five steals. The matchup was White's 12th in a row with at least 15 points. Makayla Williams was another key player, putting up five points.

Appling County smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 23 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 16 offensive rebounds in nine consecutive contests.

Despite the loss, Crisp County still got an impressive performance from T'Azia Johnson, who made all 12 shots she took for 24 points and seven boards.
