Basketball Recap: Friday's Win Is Mogadore's Tenth in Last 11 Outings

Mogadore entered their tilt with Cuyahoga Heights on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 36-23 victory over the Cuyahoga Heights Red Wolves. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 194th, while the Red Wolves are ranked 688th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Mogadore was led to victory by Amelia Morris and Kasey Bolyard. Morris dropped a double-double on ten points and 13 boards, while Bolyard went 6 of 8 en route to 12 points. The dominant performance gave Bolyard a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Ari Tompkins, who posted five points and five rebounds.

Mogadore smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in nine consecutive matchups.

Mogadore is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.4 points per game. As for Cuyahoga Heights, their loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-12.
