Basketball Game Preview: Plainfield Central Wildcats vs. Plainfield East Bengals

The Plainfield Central Wildcats are taking a road trip to face off against the Plainfield East Bengals at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Plainfield Central has now lost ten straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since December 26.

It was a proper cat-fight when Plainfield Central duked it out withPlainfield North on Tuesday. Plainfield Central fell 61-52 to Plainfield North. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 608th, while the Tigers are ranked 188th).

Meanwhile, Plainfield East was just a bucket shy of victory on Tuesday and fell 38-37 to Minooka. The Bengals have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Plainfield East's loss dropped their record down to 7-17. As for Plainfield Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-22.

Plainfield Central suffered a grim 56-31 defeat to Plainfield East in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. Can Plainfield Central avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
