Basketball Recap: Newman Comes Up Short

Newman was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They took a 60-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Edgar Wildcats. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Fighting Cardinals of the 63-38 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2024.

Newman's loss dropped their record down to 1-11. As for Edgar, their win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 5-7.

Newman will take on Assumption at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Edgar, they will face off against Marathon at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Marathon's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last eight games.
