Volleyball Recap: St. Joseph's Academy Comes Up Short in High-Profile Match with Cor Jesu Academy

St. Joseph's Academy faced Cor Jesu Academy in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Angels fell 3-1 to the Chargers. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last six times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-21, 23-25, 25-16.

Cor Jesu Academy was led to victory by Tori Gallen and Ginnie Normile. Gallen had 14 digs and two aces, while Normile had 18 digs and two aces. That's the most digs Gallen has posted since back in August of 2024.

St. Joseph's Academy's loss ended a four-match streak of away wins and brought them to 19-10-1. As for Cor Jesu Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-8 record this season.

St. Joseph's Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Cor Jesu Academy, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-1 win against Lindbergh on the 16th.
