Soccer Recap: Vanguard Takes a Loss

After flying high against Lake Weir last Friday, Vanguard came back down to earth. The Vanguard Knights fell just short of the Forest Wildcats by a score of 1-0 on Friday. The loss continues a trend for the Knights in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now lost seven in a row.

Vanguard's defeat dropped their record down to 7-2-1. As for Forest, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-1.

Vanguard and Dunnellon will compete for holiday cheer at 7:30 p.m. on December 20th. Forest will take on Lake Minneola in a holiday battle at at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Forest's last three games have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
