Football Game Preview: Porterville Panthers vs. Golden West Trailblazers + Official Tickets

The Porterville Panthers will challenge the Golden West Trailblazers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Porterville's favor is that they have posted at least 31 points in their last five contests.

Porterville is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Redwood just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of the Rangers by a score of 42-40. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (33), the Panthers still had to take the loss.

Meanwhile, Golden West put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They claimed a resounding 52-8 victory over Mt. Whitney. The Trailblazers' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Porterville better focus on containing Jayden Najera and Bre Marroquin as the pair were huge in Golden West's win. Najera threw for 298 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 10.6 yards per attempt, while Marroquin rushed for 160 yards and a pair of scores on only 13 carries. Najera has been hot recently, having posted three or more passing touchdowns the last three times he's played. Cadillac Pina was another key player, picking up 105 receiving yards and two TDs.

Porterville's loss dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Golden West, their win bumped their record up to 6-0.

Porterville ended up a good deal behind Golden West in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, losing 28-14. Thankfully for the Panthers, Case Anders (who rushed for 84 yards and three touchdowns, and also picked up 78 receiving yards) won't be suiting up this time.
