Basketball Recap: Sincere Monroe's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Windsor Locks over Somers

It was fun while it lasted, but Windsor Locks's undefeated season came to an end after three games on Friday. They fell 68-55 to the Somers Spartans. The loss was the Raiders' first of the season.

Windsor Locks' loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sincere Monroe, who posted 24 points and five rebounds. The contest was Monroe's ninth in a row with at least ten points. Jack Grasso was another key player, putting up 13 points.

Even though they lost, Windsor Locks smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in four consecutive matches.

Having lost for the first time this season, Windsor Locks fell to 3-1. As for Somers, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Windsor Locks will welcome Sports & Medical Sciences Academy at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Somers, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Rockville at 6:45 p.m. on January 14th.
