Basketball Recap: Mineral Wells Makes It Three in a Row at Home

Mineral Wells had won two straight home games and Kahlea Samples did her part to make it three on Friday. The Mineral Wells Rams walked away with a 50-42 win over the Lampasas Badgers thanks in part to Samples, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 boards. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Mineral Wells' points.

Another player making a difference was Emery Boswell, who posted three points and ten rebounds. She is becoming a predictor of Mineral Wells' success: when she posts at least ten boards the team is 9-3 (and 1-2 when she doesn't).

Mineral Wells' victory bumped their record up to 10-5. As for Lampasas, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 5-8.

Mineral Wells and Marion will face off at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. Lampasas and Waco will compete for holiday cheer at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
