Basketball Recap: Lexington Comes Up Short

Lexington managed to keep up with Chapin until halftime on Tuesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Lexington Wildcats lost 63-39 to the Chapin Eagles. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Wildcats have suffered since December 10, 2024.

Lexington has traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season. As for Chapin, with the win, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 8-10.

Lexington and Chapin could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps South Carolina Rankings. Lexington will square off against Dutch Fork at 7:30 p.m. on Friday down 117 places (148 vs. 31). Meanwhile, Chapin (ranked 98th) will meet River Bluff (ranked 34th) at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
