Basketball Game Preview: Columbia Raiders vs. Keystone Wildcats

Two dominant guards in Natalie Miller and Madyson Sokolowski are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Columbia Raiders will host the Keystone Wildcats at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Columbia will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.

On Wednesday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Columbia beat Firelands 45-41.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Keystone). They breezed by Clearview to the tune of 82-35 on Wednesday. The Wildcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 matches by 20 points or more this season.

Keystone's win came from a few key players Columbia will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Sokolowski, who went 10 for 16 en route to 23 points along with seven assists and five boards. Another player making a difference was Vivian Cassell, who posted eight points in addition to 12 rebounds and seven assists.

Keystone smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 19 consecutive contests.

Keystone pushed their record up to 18-1 with the win, which was their 23rd straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.5 points per game. As for Columbia, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season.
