Soccer Game Preview: Oak Grove vs. St. Stanislaus

The Oak Grove Warriors will head out to square off against the St. Stanislaus Rock-a-Chaws at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Last Tuesday, Oak Grove came up short against Brandon and fell 3-1. The Warriors haven't had much luck with the Bulldogs recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

Meanwhile, St. Stanislaus put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 1-0 win over St. Patrick. The Rock-a-Chaws' defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last four contests.

St. Stanislaus pushed their record up to 10-0 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those six matchups. As for Oak Grove, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 4-7-1.

Oak Grove was able to grind out a solid win over St. Stanislaus when the teams last played back in November of 2018, winning 3-1. Will Oak Grove repeat their success, or does St. Stanislaus have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
