Football Game Preview: Navarro Panthers vs. Jarrell Cougars

Navarro has gone a perfect 3-0 against Jarrell recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Panthers will challenge the Cougars at 7:30 p.m. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Navarro has struggled recently with five losses in a row, while Jarrell will arrive with seven straight victories.

On Friday, Navarro was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 34-28 to Salado.

Meanwhile, Jarrell was able to grind out a solid win over Lago Vista on Friday, taking the game 35-28. Given the Cougars' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 190th, while the Vikings are ranked 438th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Jarrell's victory bumped their record up to 6-0. As for Navarro, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-5.

Everything went Navarro's way against Jarrell when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as Navarro made off with a 35-14 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
