Soccer Game Preview: Foothill vs. Shasta

Foothill is 2-8 against Shasta since January of 2022 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Foothill Cougars will venture away from home to take on the Shasta Wolves at 7:00 p.m. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Foothill managed to keep up with Chico until halftime on Friday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Foothill lost 4-1 to Chico. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 895th, while the Panthers are ranked 332nd).

Foothill's goal came courtesy of Niccolas Jones, who's now up to eight this season.

Meanwhile, Shasta was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Pleasant Valley.

Foothill's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7-2. As for Shasta, their loss dropped their record down to 8-6-1.
