Volleyball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Wilmington

Wilmington had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Dwight Trojans. That's more bragging rights for the Wildcats, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The 2-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Wilmington was: they took both sets by at least 12 points. The final score came out to 25-10, 25-13.

Their offense was headlined by Rachel Smith and Melia Hincherick, who picked up seven kills apiece. They got some help from Molly Southall and her seven assists. Smith was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Wilmington's victory bumped their record up to 15-3. As for Dwight, they dropped their record down to 10-9 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wilmington will host Coal City at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Dwight, they will welcome Henry-Senachwine at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
