Softball Game Preview: Gateway Gators vs. McKeesport Tigers

The Gateway Gators will take on the McKeesport Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with seven consecutive losses for Gateway and four for McKeesport.

Gateway fell victim to Armstrong and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They came up short against the River Hawks, falling 15-0.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when McKeesport faced off against Greater Latrobe on Monday. The Tigers lost 11-3 to the Wildcats.

Ryenn Thomas spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and seven unearned) runs on six hits and racked up six Ks.

At the plate, Addison Homer was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Kendel Bercik, who got on base in two of her four plate appearances with three stolen bases and one run.

McKeesport's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Gateway, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-9.
