Softball Game Preview: Pymatuning Valley Lakers vs. Harding Skippers

Pymatuning Valley has gone a perfect 7-0 against Harding recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Lakers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Skippers at 4:30 p.m. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Pymatuning Valley and 11 for Harding dating back to last season.

On Tuesday, Pymatuning Valley came up short against Cardinal and fell 7-3.

Pymatuning Valley saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Elizabeth Jernigan, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI. Jernigan has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played.

Meanwhile, Harding scored the most runs they've had this season on Monday, but it wasn't enough. They came up short against Cardinal, falling 24-14.

Pymatuning Valley's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 5-5. As for Harding, their loss dropped their record down to 0-6.

Everything went Pymatuning Valley's way against Harding in their previous matchup back in May of 2025, as Pymatuning Valley made off with a 14-2 win. Do the Lakers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Skippers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
