Volleyball Recap: Maize Comes Up Short

Maize was the 2-0 winner over Lawrence when they last played one another back in October of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Eagles fell 2-0 to the Lions on Saturday. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Maize was the model of consistency in the loss, scoring 20 points in every single set they played. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-20.

Maize's defeat dropped their record down to 16-19. As for Lawrence, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-20-1.

Maize didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 loss against Washburn Rural on the 18th. As for Lawrence, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 0-0 draw against Emporia on the 18th.
