Basketball Recap: Crimson Cliffs Extends Winning Streak to Three

Crimson Cliffs had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They enjoyed a cozy 63-48 win over the Cedar Reds. Given the Mustangs' advantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked 25th, while the Reds are ranked 102nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Crimson Cliffs' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jayden Eaton led the charge by going 5 for 8 on his way to 14 points. Another player making a difference was Travis Murdock, who posted 12 points and six rebounds.

Several Reds players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Taylor Davis, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten boards. Davis has been hot, having posted nine or more rebounds the last six times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jackson Greene, who scored ten points and seven boards.

Crimson Cliffs has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season. As for Cedar, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-18.

Crimson Cliffs wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 63-61 victory against Desert Hills on the 31st. As for Cedar, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 56-49 defeat against Snow Canyon on the 31st.
