Basketball Game Preview: Fayetteville O Outliers vs. Capitol Encore Academy Dragons

The Fayetteville O Outliers will head out on the road to challenge the Capitol Encore Academy Dragons at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with five consecutive losses for Fayetteville O and six for Capitol Encore Academy.

Last Friday, Fayetteville O ended up a good deal behind Village Christian Academy and lost 57-43.

Despite their loss, Fayetteville O saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Gage McGirt, who posted ten points and eight boards, was perhaps the best of all. Anthony Harris was another key player, putting up 14 points and six rebounds.

Even though they lost, Fayetteville O smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in three consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Capitol Encore Academy didn't have quite enough to beat Alpha Academy on Monday and fell 48-45.

Fayetteville O's record is now 2-12. As for Capitol Encore Academy, their record now sits at 1-9.

Fayetteville O might still be hurting after the 65-44 defeat they got from Capitol Encore Academy in their previous matchup back in December of 2024. Can Fayetteville O avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
