Willard entered their tilt with Neosho on Thursday with eight consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with nine. Their defense stepped up to hand the Wildcats an 8-0 shutout. Considering Willard have won ten contests by more than two goals this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Willard pushed their record up to 12-4-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three matches. As for Neosho, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-10.
