Volleyball Game Preview: North Smithfield Northmen vs. La Salle Academy Rams

The North Smithfield Northmen will take on the La Salle Academy Rams at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. North Smithfield has now lost 11 straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since March 31.

North Smithfield lost 3-0 to Central Falls on Wednesday.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-12, 25-21.

Meanwhile, La Salle Academy faced Barrington in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Rams put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 3-0 victory.

La Salle Academy was especially dominant in the first set. The final score came out to 25-15, 25-23, 25-22.

The win got La Salle Academy back to even at 8-8. As for North Smithfield, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-12.

North Smithfield came out on top in a nail-biter against La Salle Academy when the teams last played back in May of 2024, sneaking past 3-2. Will the Northmen repeat their success, or do the Rams have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
