Baseball Game Preview: Sabinal Yellowjackets vs. Falls City Beavers

Sabinal is preparing for their first district matchup of the season on Friday. They will head out to face off against the Falls City Beavers at 7:00 p.m. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with nine consecutive losses dating back to last season for Sabinal and three for Falls City.

Sabinal lost 11-2 to Crystal City on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Falls City suffered their biggest loss since March 2, 2024 on Tuesday. They came up short against Poth, falling 11-4.

Falls City saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Breiten Ramsey, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2. Ramsey is becoming a predictor of Falls City's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 2-1 (and 1-4 when he doesn't). Another was Dale Shaffer, who went 3-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

Falls City's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Sabinal, their loss dropped their record down to 0-5.

Sabinal came up short against Falls City in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, falling 5-0. Can Sabinal avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
