Basketball Recap: Eldorado Comes Up Short

Eldorado lost against Sandia back in March of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Eldorado Golden Eagles were dealt an 85-32 loss at the hands of the Sandia Matadors. The Golden Eagles were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 56-23.

Sydney Benally was her usual excellent self, going 10 for 17 en route to 22 points in addition to seven assists and six boards for Sandia. Benally has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Audri Wright, who went 7 of 13 on her way to 16 points along with five assists and five steals.

Eldorado's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-12. As for Sandia, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 19-1.

Eldorado has already played their next game (against Capital), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Sandia has also has no score uploaded for their next contest, this one against Santa Fe.
