Basketball Recap: Berean Christian Takes a Loss

After soaring to 62 points the game before, Berean Christian was a bit more limited in their game on Friday. They had to suffer through a 78-29 loss at the hands of the Greenacres Christian Panthers. The Bulldogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January.

Greenacres Christian got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Rahmello Makonnen out in front who shot 45% from the field on his way to 23 points. Makonnen is also on a roll when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 40% in the last eight games he's played dating back to last season. JayQuan Robinson was another key player, going 9-for-20 en route to 21 points and five steals.

Berean Christian now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Greenacres Christian, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-3.

Looking ahead, Berean Christian will face off against Lake Worth Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Bulldogs' defense better be ready for this one: the Defenders have averaged an impressive 56.4 points per game this season. As for Greenacres Christian, they will venture away from home to take on Morningside Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Panthers' defense better be ready for this one: the Eagles (Eddy) have averaged an impressive 51.5 points per game this season.
