Football Recap: The Villages Charter Takes Down Crescent City in a Playoff Battle

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but The Villages Charter had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They blew past the Crescent City Raiders 34-0. The contest marked the Buffalo's most dominant victory of the season.

Leading The Villages Charter to victory were Zion McRae and Amelia O'Brien. McRae picked up 210 receiving yards and five touchdowns, while O'Brien threw for 230 yards and five TDs. O'Brien is becoming a predictor of the Buffalo's success: when she posts at least three passing touchdowns the team is undefeated (and 4-7 when she doesn't).

The Villages Charter is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 6.4 points on average over those games. As for Crescent City, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-5.

The Villages Charter didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 48-0 defeat against Wildwood on the 17th. Crescent City does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
