Basketball Recap: Highland Comes Up Short

Highland lost against West back in November of 2021 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Highland Scots fell 49-36 to the West Vikings. The Scots just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.

Despite the defeat, Highland saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Ellyanna Tovar went 5 for 11 on her way to 13 points. Those 13 points gave Tovar a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jordyn Dutto, who posted four points and ten boards.

Highland's loss dropped their record down to 8-15. As for West, their win bumped their record up to 7-13.

Highland wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 53-34 defeat against Independence on the 4th. As for West, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 39-37 loss against East Bakersfield on the 5th.
