Softball Recap: West Noble Chargers vs. Whitko Wildcats

If West Noble was riding high off their 13-3 takedown of Hamilton last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The West Noble Chargers took an 8-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Whitko Wildcats on Wednesday. West Noble was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Whitko apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2023.

Emily Thompson made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored three runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

On Whitko's side, Addie Garr made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out 14 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. Garr was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

In other batting news, Kaylee Adkins was excellent, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.

West Noble's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Whitko, their victory ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-4.

West Noble will head out on the road to take on Garrett at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Whitko, they will be playing at home against Triton at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Whitko is strutting in with some hitting muscle, as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.
