Softball Recap: Felicity-Franklin Sets Scoring Season-High Against Lockland

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Bethel-Tate, Felicity-Franklin was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 13-3 margin over the Lockland Panthers. The Cardinals' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Brook Caudill made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off only two hits. Those ten strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season.

In other batting news, Mollie Wilson was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Lacee Easter, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.

Felicity-Franklin always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .543. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Felicity-Franklin's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-11. As for Lockland, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-8.

Looking ahead, Felicity-Franklin will welcome Clermont Northeastern at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cardinals' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Rockets have averaged an impressive 6.5 runs per game this season. As for Lockland, they will face off against Indian Hill at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
