Basketball Recap: Overbrook Triumphs

It's playoff time, and Overbrook had no trouble coming through when it counted. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the MAST Charter II Voyagers 52-49. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Panthers have posted since December 19, 2024.

Overbrook found their leader in freshman Mykir Blackwell, who shot 60% from the field en route to 17 points. Those 17 points set a new season-high mark for Blackwell. Omar Warring was another key player, putting up five points along with seven boards and seven steals.

Overbrook's win bumped their record up to 10-14. As for MAST Charter II, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-18.

Coming up, Overbrook will challenge Riverside on Wednesday. Riverside knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past ten contests -- so hopefully Overbrook likes a good challenge. MAST Charter II does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
