Basketball Game Preview: Piedra Vista Panthers vs. Farmington Scorpions

Piedra Vista is 0-10 against Farmington since February of 2020 but things could change on Friday. The Piedra Vista Panthers will square off against the Farmington Scorpions at 7:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Piedra Vista is headed into Friday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their ninth straight game on Wednesday. They had to suffer through an 82-37 loss at the hands of Rio Rancho. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Mexico basketball rankings (they are ranked 77th, while the Rams are ranked 16th).

Farmington has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They took a 73-62 hit to the loss column at the hands of Cibola on Wednesday.

Farmington's defeat dropped their record down to 16-9. As for Piedra Vista, their loss dropped their record down to 7-18.

Piedra Vista was taken down by Farmington 73-42 in their previous matchup on February 4th. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Farmington's Landon Begay, who went 6-for-14 en route to 17 points and six assists.
