Baseball Recap: Kankakee Valley Comes Up Short

Hobart hit Kankakee Valley with a four-run fifth inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Kougars fell 6-3 to the Brickies. The Kougars have struggled against the Brickies recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost meeting.

Rowan Kenning and Declan Murr stepped up to the plate in a big way. Kenning went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run, while Murr went 1-for-3 with one triple and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Jason Parker, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

Kankakee Valley now has a losing record of 5-6-1. As for Hobart, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kankakee Valley will square off against North Newton at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Hobart, they will take on Boone Grove at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Wolves will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something the Brickies surely won't give up without a fight.
