Recap: Longview Christian vs. First Baptist Saints
It was a good run, but Longview Christian unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They were beaten by First Baptist 64-25. Longview Christian has struggled against First Baptist recently, as their matchup on Tuesday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
First Baptist was led to victory by Meredith Quinn and Emily Kate Jones. Quinn dropped a double-double on 25 points and 11 rebounds, while Jones dropped a double-double on 28 points and 14 rebounds. The game was Jones' 20th in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Kolbie Gillispie, who scored nine points along with five steals.
Longview Christian's loss dropped their record down to 6-3. As for First Baptist, they pushed their record up to 17-3 with that win, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season.
Longview Christian will take on Trinity School of Texas at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Trinity School of Texas comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for First Baptist, they will head out on the road to face off against Heritage Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Heritage Christian will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 1135th, while First Baptist is ranked 449th).
