Softball Recap: Carson Wins High-Profile Match Against Galena

Carson faced Galena in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Senators narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Grizzlies 15-13. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Senators considering their one-run performance the match before.

Sofia Morrison was incredible, firing off two home runs, three runs, and four RBI while going 4-for-5. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Rhys Branham, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.

Carson's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-7-1. As for Galena, the loss snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 7-12-1 record.
