Baseball Game Preview: Central Hardin Bruins vs. Owensboro Red Devils

The Central Hardin Bruins will square off against the Owensboro Red Devils at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Central Hardin will be strutting in after a victory while Owensboro will be coming in after a loss.

Owensboro will take on a team with plenty of momentum: Central Hardin extended their winning streak to three on Friday. The Bruins blew past Fort Knox 13-7.

Chase Price was a major factor no matter where he played. He pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Price was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3. He has become a key player for Central Hardin: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 4-6 otherwise.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Devin Hubbard, who scored three runs and stole four bases while going 3-for-3. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Caleb Irwin was another key player, getting no hits from his three at bats.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Owensboro's offense. They fell just short of Meade County by a score of 2-0 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Red Devils have suffered since April 16, 2024.

The win got Central Hardin back to even at 7-7. As for Owensboro, their loss dropped their record down to 7-6.
