Preview: Midfield Patriots vs. Childersburg Tigers
After ten games on the road, Midfield is heading back home. They will take on the Childersburg Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Midfield posted their biggest win yet this season on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Tarrant 59-13 on the road. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 40-6.
Midfield got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Zephaniah Parks out in front who scored 18 points along with five rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Parks has scored all season. Jazmin Johnson was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 11 rebounds and ten assists.
Meanwhile, Childersburg entered their tilt with Talladega with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Childersburg came out on top in a nail-biter against Talladega on Saturday and snuck past 65-63. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win Childersburg has posted yet this season.
Midfield is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a massive bump to their 11-9 record this season. As for Childersburg, they pushed their record up to 15-6 with that win, which was their third straight at home.
Midfield was able to grind out a solid win over Childersburg in their previous matchup two weeks ago, winning 69-56. Will Midfield repeat their success, or does Childersburg have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
