Baseball Game Preview: Wink Wildcats vs. Seagraves Eagles

The Wink Wildcats will take on the Seagraves Eagles at 9:00 a.m. on Friday. Wink knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with ten runs or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Seagraves likes a good challenge.

On Monday, Wink made easy work of Trinity and carried off a 20-2 victory.

CAYTON NOYOLA made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out ten batters over 4.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. What's more, he gave up only two walks, the fewest he's had since back in March of 2024. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing Four bases. while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Cayson Cuellar, who scored four runs and stole Six bases. while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in stolen bases. REMINGTON NEVES was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Seagraves was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 19-4 to O'Donnell.

Zane Thompson was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Wink's win ended a three-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-1. As for Seagraves, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.

Everything went Wink's way against Seagraves in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, as Wink made off with a 13-4 victory. Does Wink have another victory up their sleeve, or will Seagraves turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
