Soccer Game Preview: Aldine vs. The Woodlands

The Aldine Mustangs are taking a road trip to challenge The Woodlands at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Aldine sitting on four straight wins and The Woodlands on 19.

Aldine had to skate by with only a one-goal margin when they last took the pitch, which might have inspired the eight-goal drubbing they dealt Spring last Monday. Aldine put the hurt on Spring with a sharp 9-1 victory. Considering the Mustangs have won 15 games by more than two goals this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

They hit Spring with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Gewlaymi Gonzalez (5), Stephanie Rojas (2), Elizabeth Turcios, and Anabelle Esparza.

Meanwhile, on MondayOak Ridge kept up with The Woodlands until halftime, but afterwards: not so much. Everything went The Woodlands' way against Oak Ridge as The Woodlands made off with a 4-1 win. The Highlanders are also no stranger to big wins: their blowout was the 12th contest they've won by 3+ goals this season.

The Woodlands pushed their record up to 19-1-1 with the victory, which was their tenth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up three goals over those ten matches. As for Aldine, their win bumped their record up to 19-3-1.
