Football Game Preview: Liberty Eagles vs. Forsyth Panthers

The Liberty Eagles will challenge the Forsyth Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Liberty comes in on four and Forsyth on six.

Liberty is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Ava 55-14. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won eight contests by 22 points or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Forsyth beat Springfield Catholic 33-29 on Friday.

Forsyth's win came from a few key players Liberty will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Tamarkus Holmes, who rushed for 112 yards and one touchdown, and also picked up 59 receiving yards. Those 59 receiving yards gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Thomas Strahan, who picked up 77 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Forsyth was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 262 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 195 rushing yards in nine consecutive games.

Forsyth's victory bumped their record up to 8-3. As for Liberty, their win bumped their record up to 8-2.

Everything went Liberty's way against Forsyth when the teams last played back in November of 2021, as Liberty made off with a 46-21 victory. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
