Basketball Recap: South Johnston Comes Up Short

South Johnston came up into this matchup off a tough 28-point loss last Tuesday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Hunt Warriors by a score of 56-54 on Tuesday. The Trojans have struggled against the Warriors recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Despite the loss, South Johnston still got an impressive performance from Cole Norris, who went 7 for 9 on his way to 23 points and seven boards. With that strong performance, Norris is now averaging an impressive 15.5 points per game.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Hunt to victory, but perhaps none more so than Na'Sir Hines, who posted 11 points along with six assists and five rebounds. AJ Hampton was another key player, going 6 of 7 en route to 14 points and five boards.

South Johnston now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Hunt, they pushed their record up to 10-5 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.

South Johnston wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 53-35 win against Southern Wayne on the 15th. As for Hunt, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 60-47 victory against West Johnston on the 16th.
